Kiki Febriyanti (b.1986 in Bondowoso, East Java, Indonesia), currently based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Growing up surrounded by diverse social issues and a unique culture has served as an inspiration for her work. Kiki holds a Bachelor’s degree majoring in Indonesian Literature and scholarship recipient of John Darling Fellowship 2015 at the Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. Kiki is a film director of several documentaries, short films and videos focusing on topics of gender, human rights and culture, and she is also a multidisciplinary artist using different types of media. She is passionate in exploring different aspects of life with her art, playfully learning as she moves along. Kiki’s works are a colorful journey through her own experiences and her visual statement of the world around her. Her works have a unique aesthetic that dig deep to uncover a vibrant, funny, and unexpectedly familiar portrait of secrets, stories, and the humanity we too often forget exists.
